Ashgold has appointed John Christensen as the new coach until further notice following the sack of Ck Akunnor yesterday,29, June 2018.
Prior to his appointment, John Christensen was the technical director of Obuasi AshantiGold SC.
John Christensen holds a UEFA License 'A' coaching certificate.
The expatriate will now be at the helm of affairs for the club following the sack of AK Akunnor.
"The Technical Director Mr John Christensen will take charge of the first team technical duties until further notice." The club statement said.
There has been no reason stated for his sacking. However, the former coach was earlier suspended by the club after failing to turn up for training. He was later seen doing punditry work on TV on the Russia 2018 World cup.

Akunnor joined Ashgold last season with the Obuasi-based club one point above the drop zone, but the former Black Stars captain was able to transform the fortunes of the club as they maintained their league status.
