ATHLETICS: Bawumia launches 2019 GNPC Fastest Human
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has launched the 2019 GNPC Ghana's Fastest Human at a ceremony held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
GNPC Ghana's Fastest Human is an annual sprint competition targeted at unearthing sprint kings and queens to represent Ghana at the Olympic games.
The 6th edition of the program attracted lots of personalities like the Vice president of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who was the special guest, Dr Kk Sarpong, from GNPC, the Minister of Youth and Sports Kwame Iaasc Asiamah, Inspector General of Police (IGP) David Asante, NSA director, Prof. Peter Twumasi among other personalities were present for the ceremony.
In his speech at the ceremony, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia recalled the good old days when Ghana had athletes competing at the World stage with the very best.
According to Bawumia, the nation can recollect the lost glory if things are put in order.
He added the athletes should do more for the country by winning laurels to put the nation on the world map.
GNPC has been sponsoring Ghana’s Fastest Human event for the past 2 years.
