The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would be the special guest of honour at the launch of the 2019 GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human.

The event which will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow Friday, March 15, 2019.

It will be the second time a high profile government official has launched the competition after it was earlier launched by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2017.
 
The Ghana’s Fastest Human project is aimed at unearthing and developing well-trained 100 meters’ athletes to participate and win medals at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.  The competition will also revive interest and drive mass participation of Ghanaian athletes at the district, regional and national levels.
 
GNPC has embarked on this program since 2013 and the primary focus is producing 100m athletes to participate in the Tokyo 2020 and win more Medal for Ghana.
 
Some of the previous winners of GNPC Ghana's Fastest Human are in UK and America preparing for Tokyo 2020.
 
Since its inception in 2013, Ghana Fastest Human has played instrumental roles in unearthing talents for the country with all of its past winners representing the country in the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
 
GNPC has been sponsoring the Ghana’s Fastest Human event for the past 2 years. GFH and GNPC successfully established the flagship “GNPC speedsters Athlete Club” last year which is currently made up of four fastest men and women in Ghana.
