Ghanaian and Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman is set to complete a loan move to German club Schalke 04.

The Royal Blues’ Sporting Director, Christian Heidel, announced this on Thursday at a press briefing.

He appears impressed with the state of the Chelsea player’s health.

Baba Rahman suffered a knee injury at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations during Ghana’s opening 1-0 win over Uganda’s Cranes.

Rahman has recovered and had sections with the Chelsea U23 team but appears not to be in the plans of Chelsea coach Antonio Conte.

Heidel stated: “We will give him the time he needs but the medical will reveal more.”

He stated that the deal is not complete yet but they are in the “home straight” with it.
