Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa has expressed strong disagreement with the BCC’s failure to include Nigerian players in the 2018 African Footballer of the Year nomination list.

This year’s list includes Mohamed Salah of Egypt & Liverpool, Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid & Ghana), Sadio Mane (Senegal & Liverpool), Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli & Senegal) as well as Medhi Benatia (Morocco & Juventus).

Super Eagles’ Musa has made no effort to hide his disapproval, saying:

“For me, I saw the list and I feel unhappy because the players on the list did not even do up to what we did at the World Cup in Russia, so It’s politics,” Musa said.

“We don’t have to think about that but as you can see a lot of players are coming up in the team and I hope they will do well and get their name on the CAF Awards list,” he concluded.
