Black Queens midfielder Priscilla Okyere is confident the outfit will put in a better performance against Mali at the ongoing 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.

The Black Queens recorded a  1-0 win over Algeria at the Accra Sports Stadium in the opener of the tournament, however, the performance was nothing to write home about especially in the attacking third as they spurned decent opportunities.

Priscilla Okyere after the Algeria triumph disclosed that the Black Queens were under pressure to impress following the enormous fans at the Stadium on Saturday.

However, she now believes the team has overcome the pressure from the home fans going into their second group game against Mali on Tuesday.

“We’ve overcome the pressure on us,” she said.

“Ghanaians were expecting so much from us in the first game and it got us eager to score. We are very appreciative of this support and I’m sure we will do better in the next game.”

A win for Bashir Hayford's side against Mali today will qualify them to the next stage of the tournament.
