Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has mutually terminated his contract with Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC.

The experienced goalkeeper joined Dreams in 2016 but spent time with Israeli side Hapoel Afula.

“I can confirm to you that I am no more at Dreams FC, we had to terminate my contract through mutual agreement.” 29-year-old McCarthy told Graphic Sports Online.

“I think that [terminating the contract] was the best option for now because I want to play. I want to thank the club because they gave me a major European exposure when they sent me on loan to Israel.”

McCarthy who has played for Black Stars before said he was open up to a move either locally or abroad.

“I am a free player and any club which comes whether home or abroad if the offer is good for me, I will join them.”
