Old friends were reunited in the Cesc Fabregas household as Mathieu Flamini, dressed as Santa Claus, paid a visit.

Fabregas of Chelsea and Flamini of Crystal Palace were midfield partners for Arsenal from 2004 to 2008.

And they weren't the only midfielders enjoying Christmas in London as Real Madrid's Toni Kroos paid a visit to the capital.

Enjoying his time off as the rest of Europe takes a break from football for Christmas, Kroos has been keeping his fans posted on his Christmas break in London.

Barcelona superstar Neymar showed off his Christmas tree on Twitter while wishing his followers a happy Christmas.

Premier League clubs, as you would expect, wished their fans a happy Christmas with Liverpool's entire squad posing in Santa hats at Melwood.

And Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho extended the well-wishes with and Instagram post of him, his wife and their young child.

It was a family affair for Wayne Rooney too, who posted a festive picture to his 14.2 million followers on Twitter.

Rooney's United team-mate Ashley Young, left himself open to ridicule with his outrageous choice of Christmas jumper. Mail Online
