FIFA Referee William Agbovi has been banned for eight (8) competitive matches by the Ghana Football Associaition (GFA) Executive Committee.Monday May 16, 2016.

The ban which took effect from Monday May 16, 2016 is, according to a report from the GFA's Match Review Panel, due to Referee Agbovi's failure to award a penalty to Wa All Stars against Medeama around the 88th minute of their Ghana Premier League Match day 10 game played in Tarkwa.

Referee Solomon Mordey and his assistant Michael Asare have also been banned for four (4) and six (6) matches respectively effective May 16, 2016.

The Match Review Panel found the referee to have awarded a foul against an Aduana Stars attacker when he should have awarded a foul rather against the Defender of Liberty Professionals in and around the 85th minute of the match.

The Executive  Committee also approved the Match Review Panel’s recommendation to commend the under listed match officials who handled the Ghana Premier League Match day 11 game between Techiman City and Wa All Stars, ghanasoccernet reported.
