Accra Hearts of Oak needed to respond quickly but fell further behind when Agyenim Boateng pounced on an error by Richard Akrofi to double the lead in the 21st minute.

Hearts Coach Frank Nuttal made some changes to his team in the second half but they were unable to break Medeama's defence and find the goals.

Medeama who have already qualified to the Semi-final after winning their first game 6-5 against Dwarfs will take on Karela United next, as they look to wrap up top spot in Group B while Hearts of Oak’s qualification to the next stage now depends on the results they record against Dwarfs in the last group game.
