The Black Stars of Ghana will face off with the Eagles of Mali in their Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) second group game tomorrow at Port Gentil in Gabon.

The Stars are leading Group D with three points after their win over Uganda on Tuesday while Mali and Egypt have a point each after their goalless draw in the first game.

A win for Ghana in tomorrow’s game could secure a place at the quarter final stages of the competition but Mali would have different ideas.

They will be hoping to deny Ghana qualification to the next stage with a game to spare by picking some points in the game.

Mali was splendid in their game against seven-time African Champions Egypt and would be very resolute against Ghana.

Both things would require three points in a bid to qualify to the next stage especially for Ghana, who would be facing Egypt in their last group game.

Ghana would be at a safer side if they qualify ahead of the clash as a slip would be disastrous ahead of the final game.

The team would have to lift up their game to score goals as they might not have the benefit of a penalty as they did in the game against Uganda.

Coach Avram Grant and his chargers should expect a tougher opposition in Mali and a better performance must be exhibited to surmount the challenge.

Ghana will be hoping to lift the ultimate trophy in this year’s competition after losing on penalties to Ivory Coast in the last edition of the competition.
