Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso says captain Asamoah Gyan's absence will not affect the team negatively as they believe his spirit is still with them as Ghana take on Egypt on Sunday in the World Cup qualifier.

Asamoah Gyan injured his thigh on Tuesday in the Black Stars training and has been ruled out for the game.

A win for the Black Stars will have no bearing on the qualification as Egypt have already booked a place in Russia 2018.

"It is a pity he is not going to play but he is in camp so his spirit is still with the team,"

"I will urge he supporters to come out in their numbers and Insha Allah we will win," He added.

Egypt beat Ghana 2-1 in the first leg in Alexandria and the Stars will be aiming to redeem their image with a win.

The Black Stars will take on Egypt at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, November 12 at 3:PM.
