Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has claimed that the current Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan is the only legend left in the team.

The outspoken midfielder believes the Black Stars need top class players who are at the level of Gyan to be able to win the AFCON for Ghana.

“For now you don’t see the legends anymore. The likes of Abedi, Yeboah, Arhinful, Appiah, Laryea and Essien are all not around anymore. The only legend left in the Black Stars is Asamoah Gyan because he is breaking everything,” Sulley said in an interview on the Football Legends Night Show.

The Black Stars still have players like Kwadwo Asamoah and Andre Ayew who may be able will guide the team to the next AFCON in 2019.

Gyan who is currently Africa's top scorer at the FIFA World Cup with 6 goals is also Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 51 international goals in 105 appearances.
