Hearts of Oak captain Fatawu Mohammed has been stripped off his captaincy according to the spokesperson of the club.

Spokesperson, Opare Addo said the stripping off of Fatawu Mohammed's captaincy was due to his damning comments on the clubs' recruitment policy.

Mohammed explicitly criticized the Phobians' policy of recruitment. In an interview with the press, he blasted the management of the club for not bringing 'experienced' players to support the youngsters in the current team.

"He made certain comments through inappropriate channels and we’ve sanctioned him,” Opare Addo told Asempa FM.

“It is not that he’s being stripped off the captaincy permanently. It is a temporal measure for now.” He added.

Fatau Mohammed made the damning comments after the defeat against Ebusua Dwarfs in a friendly match last weekend.
