Ghanaian defender Dan Quaye says he is ready to play for Hearts of Oak again if given the opportunity.
Dan Quaye who is 37 years old has been unattached for 2 years says he trains every day and will be willing to play for the Phobians if he is called upon.“The club has to change its mentality regarding we the old players. Their thinking is that the old players influence the decisions of the young players in the team and that is why most Ghanaian clubs hardly sign old players.†Dan Quaye told Footballmadeinghana in an interview.
“The young players of today know what is good for them already and so I don’t think it is we the old guys that influence them.†the experienced full-back said.
“I am always training and ready to help the team again. You all saw what myself, Richard Kingson, Attram did at Great Olympics two seasons ago. â€

“People were even saying we were better than the young ones and this is what I mean. The experience players have a lot to give but unfortunately, our clubs don’t see it that wayâ€
“I haven’t retired. I am always training since Olympics got relegated. I can still play even better and I’m not boasting†he added.
Dan Quaye represented Hearts of Oak between 1999 and 2009 winning the Champions League and Confederation Cup.
He left to play for Chinese sides Chongqing Lifan and Yanbian FC.
