Isaac Asiamah to be nominated as Sports Minister

President Nana Akufo- Addo will name his last batch of ministerial nominees this afternoon and expected to name among others, Member of Parliament(MP) for Atwima Mponua constituency in the Ashanti region, Isaac Asiamah as the next Minister of Youth and Sports.

Mr. Asiamah over the years,has been very vocal with issues concerning sports especially the Black Stars and will be heading the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Nana Akufo-Addo administration.

He has also worked as a member of the Parliamentary select Committee for Youth and Sports and has the needed experience with regards to sports administration in the country.

Mr. Asiamah was part of the team that was sent by President Nana Addo to meet the Black Stars in Accra ahead of their trip to Dubai.

The President's Spokesperson, Mustapha Hamid disclosed during the meeting that, Mr. Asiamah would be named as the Minister of Youth and Sports.

Known as one of the 'hottest' ministries, Mr. Asiamah would be taking over from Nii Lantey Vanderpuye who had a very torrid time especially dealing with the Ghana Football Association. 

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon and has also served on the Parliamentary Committees for Mines and Energy as well as the Public Accounts Committee in the past.

Asiamah also worked at the National Youth Secretariat.
