Former Black Stars defender John Paintsil has won the legal case against former teammate Derek Boateng after claims that the aforementioned has borrowed US$ 20,000 from the latter.

Derek Boateng sued John Paintsil to refund the US$ 20,000 the latter borrowed in camp during the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa.

Boateng demanded the recovery of the amount plus interest at commercial bank rate from the date the defendant collected the money till the date of final payment.

Despite John coming out to debunk the claims saying “I have received summons from court over the said issue and I have discussed the matter with my lawyer to take the necessary legal actions. “All I can say is that I don’t owe Derek.”

Derrick, however, dragged the issue to court but it was the "defendant" that came victorious.
