Real Madrid flop Kaka has blamed Jose Mourinho for his failed Bernabeu career.

Real Madrid signed Kaka from AC Milan back in 2009, paying a huge £56million to make him the world’s most expensive player at the time.

However, the Brazil international failed to live up to expectations over at the Bernabeu, with injuries and inconsistencies stopping him from scaling the heights many had predicted.

And the Real Madrid flop has now expressed a belief that Jose Mourinho was the one thing that stopped him from being a huge club hit.

"My problem at Madrid was continuity,” the former playmaker told Sport TV.

"First for the physical issue and then for the choice of the coach.

“I spent three years trying to convince Mourinho that he could give me opportunities. But it was his choice, it was beyond my reach. What I was doing was being an excellent professional.

“And today I have the great joy of being able to get to Madrid and have the doors open. Florentino says I was one of the most professional players who came by.”

Kaka insisted, though, that he harboured no grudge against Mourinho despite his Real Madrid difficulties.

“There is no problem between us,” he added.

“I was in Manchester for an advertising act and I stayed at the hotel where Mourinho lived and we talked for two hours. In some moments we had disagreements in the stage in Madrid because I thought I had to play and he did not think so.

“But they were respectful disagreements. I never rebelled and told him 'I'm leaving here', nor did I go before the press to complain.

“I told him: 'It's your choice, but I think you could have other options because I think I have a chance to play. Now, you are the one you choose".
