Widely reported to be on his way out of Juventus, midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah could paradoxically sign a new deal with the Old Lady in the coming weeks, according to Calciomercato.

With the Ghanaian's current contract set to run out at the end of the season, reports say the Italian giants are weighing up a renewal offer as they face losing the 28-year-old on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

The news has taken many by surprise considering the fact that the Black Star came close to sealing a move to Turkey in the summer.

With Fenerbahce also interested, Asamoah reportedly agreed personal terms with Galatasaray but Juve's inability to find a replacement scuppered the deal. The two Turkish clubs are said to still be in a hot battle for the Accra-born, with a possible move on the cards in January, particular if Asamoah and the Old Lady fail to negotiate a successful extension.

Asamoah is reportedly keen on pursuing a move away as he has been reduced to a mere squad player at Juve over the last three seasons.

His injury troubles partly to blame, the former Liberty Professionals man has made 47 league appearances in all since summer 2014, having transferred from Udinese in 2012.

Five Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia winner's medals and three Super Cup golds make up his trophy haul.
