Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante has opened up about his new role under Maurizio Sarri noting that he is enjoying the new challenge.
With the arrival of Maurizio Sarri from Italian club Napoli, Kante has been pushed further upfront and relieved from his defensive duties. His position has been taken up by Jorginho who reunited with his manager after they worked together at Napoli.
Chelsea have reverted to a 4-3-3, with Kante and Jorginho being regular starters as the other third midfielder is alternated between Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference in the France build-up game against the Netherlands, Kante revealed that he is relishing his new role at the club,
“I am enjoying the role. It is a new challenge for me. I try to understand the move and the right players' combinations. I think we are doing well. We need to keep working and keep improving and I think we can enjoy a good season together.â€
