Kotoko sack Michael Osei as deputy coach

Assistant coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Michael Osei has been fired by the club, reports suggest.

Osei, 45, had been acting as the coach of Kotoko since April 2016 his then boss David Duncan was asked to step aside.

Kotoko placed 4th in the league at the of the season leading to calls for the appointment of a substantive coach.

Former King Faisal and Ashantigold Coach, Zdravko Lugarosic was appointed last two weeks with Osei reverting to the assistant role.

But in a sudden turn of events Lugarosic is reported to have told the Kotoko management to sack Osei because he could no longer work with him.

According to sportsworldghana.com, Michael Osei to have confirmed saying, ”Yes it is true that I am leaving Kotoko, because according to management Zdravko Logarusic says he can’t work with me again.”

Osei was with Lugarosic on the Kotoko bench as they beat city rivals, King Faisal 2-0 in a friendly match on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
