Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer (CEO) George Amoako is positive his outfit will put smiles on the face of their faithfuls by defeating Zambian side Nkana FC in matchday three of the Confederation Cup.
The Porcupines travels to Zambia to face Nkana FC at the Nkana Stadium on Sunday, February 24 at 1:00 pm.Â
Nkana FC and Kotoko recorded their first win in matchday two defeating Al Hilal and Zesco United respectively and both will be heading into the match with high hopes.
The Zambians have a home invisibility record since debuting as Rhokanna United in 1976, a record spanning 43 years. They have played 57 matches, won 41 (including 1-0 win vs Kotoko in 1993) and drawn 16.
Despite making their home ground a fortress, George Amoako maintains Kotoko is unperturbed and they will return home victors.
"We are told Nkana Fc haven't lost at home in Africa since 1976, but records are definitely meant to be broken," said CEO Geoge Amoako in an interview with Takoradi-based Westgold Radio.Â
The Porcupines leave the shores of Ghana on Wednesday, February 20 and according to George Amoako, they will be travelling without the services of midfielder Richard Senanu. Â
"I received an update on Richard Senanu's injury, it doesn't look likely he will play against Nkana"
He further tasked the supporters to rally behind the team.
"Dr Kwame Kyei is Kotoko's messiah, he is building an empire."
Asante Kotoko is third in Group C of the CAF Confederations Cup with 3 points same as Zesco United, Al Hilal and Nkana FC.
