Kwasi Appiah calls up Rashid Sumaila to replace crocked Nuhu

Red Star Belgrade defender, Rashid Sumaila, has received a late call-up from coach Kwasi Appiah for Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Kenya.

Appiah has been forced to alter his 21-man squad following an injury to Kassim Nuhu.

Nuhu sustained an injury in the Bundesliga game involving TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Freiburg on Saturday.

TSG Hoffenheim have confirmed preliminary medical examination indicates that Nuhu, sustained an ankle injury and will be out for four weeks.

Meanwhile, defender John Boye also sustained a muscle injury whilst playing for French side, Metz in a league game, and will be unavailable for the Black Stars game slated for Sunday, September 8, 2018, in Nairobi.

Boye will however not be replaced. The Black Stars travel to Nairobi with a 20-man squad. The team begins camping in Addis Ababa, from the 3rd-7th September.

The Liaison Team wishes Kassim Nuhu and John Boye speedy recovery.
