Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is reportedly on the verge of signing a new bumper deal that will make him the world’s best-paid shot-stopper.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move from United in recent years but reports say he is ready to make a stunning U-turn and sign a long-term contract with the Red Devils.

According to The Sun, a new deal would see the Spaniard’s wage rise to over £400,000-a-week after bonuses making him one of the top earners at the club alongside Alexis Sanchez.

De Gea’s current contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of next season and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain were said to be prepared to bid £60million for his services in the summer.
