Veteran Ghanaian Coach J.E Sarpong believes that Black Queens assistant coach Mercy Tagoe should have been made the substantive coach.

J.E Sarpong believes that Mercy Tagoe who has been working closely with former Black Queens coach Mas-Ud Dramani was better placed to be the head coach rather than playing second fiddle to current Queens head coach Sellas Tetteh.

"Mercy has seen it all, Mercy as a national player for the Black Queens, she has been a FIFA referee before, she has attended several courses,"

"She is better placed to be the substantive coach of the queens because experience is not bought from the store,"

"I don't have any problem with the appointment of Sellas Tetteh but it would have been best if he was reappointment as the coach of the Black Satellites," he said this on Kumasi based Angel FM.

Coach J.E Sarpong added that he will have turned down an opportunity to coach the Queens because of the many challenges that come with handling women football.

The Ghana FA has settled on a much more experienced trainer for the senior women’s national team by appointing Sellas Tetteh as new boss.

Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo was initially favoured to assume the role until her former boss advised the need for her to be allowed to be guided by a more experienced hand in the immediate future.
