Former Black Stars Midfielder,  Yussif Chibsah has revealed that most Ghanaian players get carried away after signing their first professional contract abroad.

Yussif Chibsah believes most Ghanaian players become complacent after signing professional contracts, thereby hampering their quest to attain greater heights.

Yussif Chibsah is a registered FIFA Intermediary and with that, the former Asante Kotoko skipper has been able to represent over thirty Ghanaian footballers on the international scene.

The-34-year old said they fail to push harder after signing a professional contract which exposes the players to 'little money'.

“Most Ghanaian players get carried away after signing their first professional contract outside the country. They get carried away with the little money and forget that there is big money ahead if they push harder”, Yussif Chibsah told Happy FM in Accra.

“When they come home for holidays, their attitude and conduct tells you they are already carried away", he added.

Chibsah said “if at that point they don’t get someone to tell them to use the step to grab bigger opportunities, they end there”.

Concerns have been raised as to why Ghanaian players show a lot of prospect in Ghana but fail to live up to the billing after they sign professional contracts abroad.

Yussif Chibsah, therefore, urged the Ghanaian players who have signed professional contract abroad to take advantage of that in order to achieve greater heights.
