Black Maidens captain Mukarama Abdulai and winger Suzzy Dede Teye have been shortlisted among the nominees for the scorer of the best goal at the just-ended FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay.

The duo's strikes are among a shortlist of 10 announced by world football's governing body FIFA on Monday, November 3.

For Abdulai, who has also earned a nomination for the prestigious African Women's Player of the Year prize, the Goal of the Tournament honour could mean a third end-of-competition award, having netted seven times to win the top scorer's golden shoe and the third best player's bronze ball.

In Ghana's opening two games of the World Cup, she picked up the Woman of the Match prizes.

Abdulai's third goal in the 5-0 triumph over Uruguay is the one in contention for the Goal of the Tournament gong.

From outside the box, the Northern Ladies striker picked out dashing winger Teye down the right flank, whose delivery into the 12-yard box was flicked back by Millot Pokuaa for Abdulai to calmly finish into the net.

For Teye, it was her sublime goal to put Ghana 2-1 up against Mexico in the quarter-finals that earned her a spot on the prestigious list.

After being picked up by an Abdulai cross-field ball, the 16-year-old beat her marker with a sweet and composed first touch and calmly lifted the ball over the sprawling goalkeeper into the net.

The winner of the award is currently being decided by votes, which close on Monday, December 10.
