Former referee Silas Okine has branded the deputy chairman of the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG), Joe Debrah as being corrupt.

RAG on 16th September 2018 sanctioned referees guilty in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas video.

Undercover Journalist, Anas exposed over 77 referees taking bribe to influence matches in a video documentary.

However, the former referee said the RAG chairman, Joe Debrah is not morally sound enough to sanction referees culpable in the video as he was initially involved in corruption.

“Referee Joe Debrah and myself went to take bribe at the Anyinam Lodge in a match involving AshantiGold. Referee Joe Debrah went with me to take the bribe on two different occasions,” Okine stated on Happy FM.

“Referee Joe Debrah took me in his car and we went for the money, so he has no moral right to ban referees for taking bribe.”
