Real Sociedad has confirmed midfielder Luca Sangalli suffered a mild stroke.
Sangalli was not named among the team members to play Copa del Rey against Celta Vigo on Thursday alongside Raul Rodriguez. Sociedad confirmed that Sangalli’s exclusion was necessitated with a stroke suffered on Wednesday.
"Luca Sangalli suffered a mild stroke this morning. He is currently in the stroke unit of the Donostia University Hospital, where he will be studied," Real Sociedad statement said.
The 23-year old, according to reports in Spain started feeling unwell when he was taking an exam at the university in Arrasate. He was taken to the hospital in the company of the club doctor.
Sangalli was definitely promoted to the main squad in La Liga on 14th August this year and extended his contract until 2020,  made his debut in the category two weeks later with a starting in a 1–2 away loss against SD Eibar.

Sangalli has made six appearances for the Real Sociedad this season, the last of them in Saturday's 2-0 La Liga defeat at Atletico Madrid.
He scored his maiden goal for the senior team in a 3–1 away win against Athletic Bilbao in the Basque derby on October 5th.
