Former French international Willy Sagnol is in Ghana to be interviewed by the Ghana Football Association(GFA) in his quest to become the next Black Stars coach.

Sagnol would be hoping to convince the GFA to become Avram Grant's successor instead of the current favourite Kwesi Appiah.

Grant's contract ended with the national team in February and the Stars have since been without a substantive coach.

A six-man committee headed by President of the Ghana Football Association(GFA) Kwesi Nyantekyi are expected to name a new coach in April.

Meanwhile, the committee according to sources would be interviewing three applicants, Sagnol, Appiah and Hugo Broos for the job. The interviews would be completed by the end of the weekend.

Fourty-year-old, Sagnol, a former defender of Bayern Munich, also managed the French Under-21 team and Ligue 1 side Girondins Bordeaux.
