The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has written officially to FIFA appealing for their suspension to be lifted in order for their 2019 AFCON qualifier with Ghana to go on as scheduled.

FIFA issued a suspension to Sierra Leone after the football governing body insisted that the government was interfering in the affairs of the SLFA.

The Sierra Leone government within their own power decided to suspend SLFA President Ms Isha Johansen and SLFA General Secretary, Mr Christopher Kamara.

The SLFA and the Sports Ministry had a crucial meeting on Monday, October 8, 2018, in a bid to appeal the suspension in time to allow the national team to play the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Ghana on Thursday.
