Kumasi Asante Kotoko have today, 31 October 2018 signed goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe, the club's website confirms.

The shot-stopper earlier last week saw his contract terminated by Ethiopian side St George even before he kicks a ball.

The highly-rated glovesman joins the ambitious Asante Kotoko side as a free agent to augment the goalkeeping department ahead of their 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Tagoe spent six seasons with Tarkwa-based side Medeama SC where he excelled heavily, winning two FA Cups in 2013 and 2015.

The 26-year-old was a key cog of the Medeama side that reached the group stages of the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.

Earlier today, 31 October 2018, Asante Kotoko made eight signings to strengthen the team for the CAF competition.

Notable among the new acquisitions are former defender Yaw Frimpong, former WAFA midfield kingpin, Umar Basiru, and fellow midfielder, Martin Antwi, who joins the club from Inter Allies on a three-year deal after trials abroad, Karela FC duo, Abdul Ishmail Ganiyu, a centre-back, and  Maxwell Baako, a midfielder, have also been wrapped up by Kotoko on a three-year, and two-year deals respectively, with Accra-based Charity Stars Academy’s left-back sensation, Evans Owusu, also signing a three-year contract.
