Manchester United went against all the odds and knocked Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League competition following a 3-1 win.

The Red Devils did something that no team has ever done in the Champions League OR European Cup.. lose the first leg at home by two goals, and still go through. Romelu Lukaku scored the opener before Bernet grabbed the equalizer for the hosts. Lukaku restored United's lead once again before Marcus Rashford converted a penalty kick from the spot to see United advance to the quarterfinals.

United suffered a 0-2 defeat to PSG at home in the first leg thanks to goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe.  The visitors needed a 2-0 win to send the tie to extra time or a win of three goals without conceding to proceed to the next stage.

Lukaku's opener

United had a dream start in Paris after Lukaku grabbed an opener for his side after two minutes of play to reduce the defeat to one. PSG was knocking it about the back nonchalantly as Kehrer squared a pass for Silva but Lukaku stole it and was through on goal. He made a heavy touch but managed to round the goalkeeper before putting the ball into an empty net.

Leveller

PSG leveled the scored just after ten minutes, VAR was briefly reviewed but the goal stood. Ole would have been happy with the start, but not the number of times PSG had entered United's box. And the hosts deserved leveler. Bailly played Mbappe onside as he received a ball on the right of the box, and Bailly was sleeping at the back post again as Bernat evaded him to tap home Mbappe's fine ball across the face of goal.

Lukaku's brace

The game was on again, thanks to Lukaku's effort. Rashford, who had not had the best start, had a go from 25 yards. It was dipping but should have been easy for Buffon but he spilled it into Lukaku's path. The Belgian turned home with ease for 201 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate.

Rashford's penalty

Kimpembe handled the ball inside the penalty area in the stoppage time. The referee had to review footage from VAR and a penalty was awarded to United. Rashford slammed it into the top left corner and the whole United bench went insane. It was a miracle in Paris as PSG was absolutely stunned.
