The Egyptian FA has confirmed that West Bromwich Albion defender Ahmed Hegazi has withdrawn from their World Cup clash with Ghana due to personal reasons.

Egypt have already booked a place in the World Cup and will use their game against Ghana as a form of preparation towards next year's finals in Russia.

"Ahmed Hegazi left Egypt's training camp on Tuesday for family reasons," a statement on the Egyptian FA's official website read.

Hegazi now joins Liverpool's Mohammed Salah as some of the top Egyptian players who will not be available for the game on Sunday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Egypt secured a World Cup berth for the first time since 1990 after defeating Congo 2-1 in Alexndria last month.

The game against Ghana will be played on the 12th of November at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.Â
