The sister of Trade minister-designate Alan Kyerematen, who was a victim of the La gas explosion in Accra has died, it has been reported.
Brigitte Kyerematen–Darko died Wednesday morning, according to a report by Accra-based Starr FM.
For over two weeks after the accident, she battled for her life at the hospital, but finally succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.
Twelve people have now been confirmed killed in the bloody December 24 explosion which occurred when the machine that was emptying gas into the containers on site caught fire and consumed electric cables close to the gas station.
The Fire Service’s preliminary investigations into the incident confirmed that the explosion was caused by ‘irresponsible human error’.
