Incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Atebubu Amantin constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, Sanja Nanja has lost his seat to the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Kofi Amoakohene.

He polled 18,151 as against Amoakohene's 19,218.

Sanja Hanna courted bad publicity after he insulted the queemother of the Atebubu traditional area.

He, during a live radio interview, described the queenmother as a drunkard for criticising him after clashes broke between his supporters and those of the District Chief Executive of the area.

The queen and some of her elders vowed to make sure that he lost the seat.

Despite numerous pleas from Mr Nanja, they stood their grounds and he has lost.
