Borussia Dortmund flew to Spain ahead of their decisive, table-topping Champions League group clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday.

The German giants land in the Spanish capital to take on Zinedine Zidane's men, in a game they hope will crown them outright winners of Group F.

Dortmund currently lead the group on 13 points, but a Madrid victory would see the Galacticos clinch top spot by one point, setting up a potentially easier match up in the final 16.

The last time the two sides met, in late September, spoils were shared after a 2-2 stalemate unfolded at the Signal Iduna Park.

The Galacticos had twice gone ahead in the contest through Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane, but Dortmund's resilience shone through and Thomas Tuchel's men fought back to remain pacesetters in the group.

Goals from Aubameyang and Andre Schurrle were enough to pull the Schwarzgelb back into the tie with three minutes remaining.

So far Dortmund still stand as the elite competition's most prolific club, having plundered 19 goals in just five matches.

Only Barcelona come close - with 16 efforts of their own - but with Madrid having registered 14 goals so far in this season's European competition, the head-to-head at the Bernabeu could yet prove to be a goal scoring feast.

The draw for the round of 16 in the Champions League will take place on Monday, December 12 in Nyon, Switzerland.
