A security expert has called for an immediate arrest of the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, for making what he described as ‘treasonable comment'.
Mr. Emmanuel Kotin, who is the Executive Director of Africa Centre for Security and Terrorisms, considers the comment made by Mr. Asiedu Nketia that the emergence of vigilante groups like ‘the Hawks’ of NDC is "an appropriate natural response" to the failure of President Akufo-Addo government to rein in its party vigilante groups", as treasonable comment.
The NDC scribe had said the emergence of groups like Hawks is "an appropriate natural response" to the failure of the Akufo-Addo government to rein in its party vigilante groups.
The Hawks were seen following and protecting the former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yamin, at the election grounds.
Other groups include 'The Dragons' who are based in the Brong Ahafo Region and 'The Lions' who are also based in the Eastern Region.
