The Ministry of the Interior has renewed curfews in Bunkprugu and Bimbilla townships.

The lockdown in Bunkrugu starts from 20:00 hours to 06:00 hours and Bimbilla from 22:00 hours to 04:00 hours. All effective Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

A statement signed by the sector Minister, Ambrose Dery said the renewal of the curfew was upon the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument.

It urged the chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth and the people to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to ensure peace in the area.

The statement reminded the people of the total ban on carrying, arms, ammunitions or any offensive weapons and that any persons found with such weapons would be arrested and prosecuted.
