The Church of Pentecost deacon kidnapped in Johannesburg during a robbery incident in church last Sunday has been released.
Deacon Emmanuel Cudjoe was kidnapped after armed robbers attacked the church during a live service.
The robbers made away with valuables and cash belonging to church members, and dragged away the deacon.
The Church of Pentecost on Tuesday, October 31 declared a three-day fasting and prayers as a result of the incident.
Even before the fasting and prayer session ends on Thursday, November 2, the deacon has been released.
He was freed Tuesday night, according to Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Charles Owiredu.
“He is with his family now,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday, November 1.
The Church of Pentecost Deacon/Elder was freed last night. He is with his family now.
