The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says President Akufo-Addo will not approve guidelines on sex and reproductive education if it includes Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE).

The Education Ministry is expected to submit guidelines on sex and reproductive education to the cabinet for approval.

His comments come on the back of the President's assurance that he will not allow materials that are not in line with our culture (CSE) to be taught in our schools.

Ever since the CSE document surfaced, there has been fierce resistance from civil groups, religious bodies, and parents.

Oppong Nkrumah speaking on the Joy Super Morning show on October 7, 2019, said the President will abide by his word by rejecting CSE if it is included in the guidelines on sex and reproductive education.

"The Ministry of Eduction will present a set of guidelines to the cabinet, there are various guidelines and some have been presented and approved but the one that deals with sex and reproductive education has not been presented yet, so the Education Ministry will present the guidelines to cabinet and they will have an opportunity to look at it and give approval before it goes through other processes.

"What the President has committed to is that CSE which people are worried about will not happen, he will make sure that whatever cabinet approves does not include those things."

The President over the weekend met with Christian and Muslim leaders and assured them that under his watch he will make sure CSE is not taught in our schools.

The Comprehensive Sexual Education programme is expected to equip pupils to know and experience their sexuality.
