Truck drivers operating at the Tema port have announced their intention to launch a sit-down strike commencing on Monday, May 6, 2024.

The drivers, in a notice, raised a range of issues plaguing their operations.

The grievances include frequent attacks by armed robbers, harassment by uniformed personnel, and unlawful detentions.

They are therefore demanding immediate action to address these pressing concerns.

In the official notice, the drivers declared that no trucks would be operational at the ports on Monday, May 6, as part of their protest action.

Additionally, they have scheduled a press conference later today at the JAPTU Ghana Secretariat located at the Tema Port, where they plan to further articulate their grievances and demands.
