Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested two men in connection with the brutal robbery and killing of 20-year-old Kofi Mensah at Tweapease-Aboo.
The suspects — Solomon Opoku and Collins Aboagye — were captured in separate intelligence-led operations following the incident, which was reported to the Bediem District Police Command on October 6, 2025, by the area’s Assembly Member.
A police statement issued on Saturday, October 11, confirmed that the victim was attacked and killed, and his Haojin motorbike was stolen.
Four days after the crime, officers arrested Solomon Opoku at Council Quarters in Obuasi as he attempted to sell the stolen motorbike. Further investigations led police to Kokotesua, also in Obuasi, where his accomplice, Collins Aboagye, was picked up.
Police said both suspects have confessed to the crime, and the stolen motorbike has been recovered.
The two are in custody and are expected to be arraigned before the court on Monday, October 13, 2025.
The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring community safety across the region.
