Over 200 vehicles belonging to the state have gone missing, Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin has disclosed.

According to him, some of the cars which were originally designated as official vehicles for the presidency have "vanished" from their garages at the Flagstaff House.

"President Akufo-Addo is currently using a 2007 BMW model purchased by the state during the Ghana@50 celebrations...That is what he is using. So where are the cars?" he questioned.

The situation, Mr Arhin, noted has forced President Nana Akufo-Addo to rely on makeshift arrangements for his travels especially outside Accra.

“Just this last week Saturday, the president had to use his private Land Cruiser for an official duty in Kyebi. That is the same Land Cruiser he used during the campaign time” he revealed in an interview with Accra-based Neat FM to explain why government has set up a committee to retrieve state assets suspected to be in the possession of some members on the previous administration.
