A preliminary transition report has been presented to the president-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to the spokesperson of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) side of the transition team, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the interim report contained the essential information they had gathered from key ministries.

The NPP team had initially complained of delays by government's side of the transition in submitting their handing over notes before their leader, Yaw Osafo Maafo, some time later, acknowledged at a press briefing that they received all the notes they were expecting with the exception of the one on the office of government machinery.

But speaking on Thursday, Mr Oppong Nkrumah stated that they were almost done with the full report and would present it to Nana Akufo-Addo before his inauguration as president on January 7.

“The interim report that we have provided for the president-elect essentially covers the basic bits of information we have received currently and most importantly some national security briefings between himself and his representative on the team responsible for national security, Albert Kan Dapaah. But the detailed interim report is what you just saw us meeting about which will be submitted to him before the inauguration day,” he told the media.
