Black Queens midfielder Priscilla Okyere admitted the gigantic fans on the opening match of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) against Algeria brought massive pressure on the team.

Priscilla Okyere disclosed that the Black Queens were under pressure to impress following the enormous fans at the Stadium on Saturday.

The Black Queens recorded a  1-0 win over Algeria at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 2018 AWCON opener following a thunderous strike by Gladys Amfobea.

The outfit, however, spurned decent opportunities to win the game by a large margin, and according to the midfielder, Okyere, The Black Queens felt the pressure playing in front of the large home fans.

“We were very eager to score and that is why we missed a lot of the chances. “Now that we have our first three points I think things will settle for us,” she added.

“The most important thing for us was to get the win and we managed to do that so I think things will get better for us.”

The Black Queens will be hoping to exhibit a much better performance in their next clash against Mali on Tuesday.
