Head coach for the female national team, Bashiru Hayford says the Black Queens should have scored more goals had it not been their wastefulness in front of goal in the ongoing African Women Cup (AWCON) 2018.

Bashiru Hayford believes that his outfit were profligate and should have scored more goals in the opening match.

The Black Queens of Ghana opened their 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) campaign with a 1-0 win over Algeria at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Irrespective of the triumph, the gaffer was not happy with their potency in front of goal.

“We played a very good game and created a lot of chances, which we should have scored.

“We didn’t struggle in scoring the goals but we just wasted the chances but we thank God we held on to the lone goal, we would work on that in our subsequent matches,” he added.

The Black Queens will lock horns with Mali on Tuesday.
