Black Maidens head coach Evans Adotey says he is not surprised by the superlative performance of captain Abdulai Mukarama against Uruguay at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2018.

The Black Maidens of Ghana put 5-0 past hosts Uruguay on the opening day at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2018 as captain Mukarama Abdulai scored a hat-trick in the Group A contest.

Mukarama Abdulai scored in the 25th, 78th, and 90th to complete her hat-trick of the tournament.

However, the gaffer of the Maidens revealed he is not astonished by her devastating form and that her goalscoring prowess was due to the advice he came the striker.

"I knew already she was going to win the best player," he said after the game. "I told her to bang in the goals and low and behold she was able to score three for Ghana."

Three goals and an assist was enough for Abdulai Mukarama to be named the best player of the match on Tuesday night.
