Over 60 coaches from across the world applied for the vacant job but government has hinted that it would prefer a local coach to take over the team.

It is for that reason the shortlisted names have been dominated by local coaches with the possibility of the return of Kwesi Appiah as the next Black Stars coach.

The likes of J.E Sarpong, Marcel Desaily, Ibrahim Tanko, David Duncan and Otto Addo have all indicated their interest in the job by way of application.

Meanwhile the Black Stars management committee would officially  announce the shortlist of coaches for interview by March 28.
