Ghana to be without Ayew brothers for Nigeria clash

Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has joined a list of players who will miss Ghana's 2022 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.

Jordan Ayew is likely to be unavailable for the clash in Kumasi after testing positive for Covid-19 and is expected the miss the reverse fixture.

Due to contracting the virus, 30-year-old was left out of Palace’s FA Cup quarter-final 4-0 win over Everton.

Also his elder brother and captain of the Black Stars, Andre Ayew has been ruled out of the game due to suspension.

Benjamin Tetteh and Baba Rahman are other players out of the clash due to suspension and injury respectively.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will depart Accra for Kumasi on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 to begin preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 playoff first leg tie against Nigeria.

Ghana will play Nigeria in the 1st leg on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 19:30GMT at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi while the return leg comes off on March 29 in Abuja.
